Sometimes, within the first few seconds, you just know you’ve stumbled upon a gem – and that’s exactly how I felt about Captain Crocodile and their Adore U. Captain Crocodile had a remarkably productive year, releasing two EPs. Adore U comes from their April 2025 EP, followed later in the autumn by Stepped On Me.
To be completely honest, I haven’t listened to the latter yet – it’s simply not possible for me to hear absolutely everything haha. That said, the spring EP is a real gem, and Adore U completely won me over – not least thanks to its music video, which carries a dark, slightly brooding atmosphere I often associate with British music.
A simple, catchy riff, the same goes for the bassline, and an outstanding vocal performance. Sometimes it doesn’t take much to create a brilliant song – you just have to be genuinely good and talented. And that certainly applies to Captain Crocodile.
